(Central station) Woman hires "falcon” to scare pesky pigeons away from home

Desperate to keep pigeons off the balcony and stop them from pooping all over it? A woman has found the solution by hiring a “falcon” to scare away the pesky pigeons.  

A netizen named Chan has recently shared her funny encounter with pigeons, saying she had successfully fended off the animal with a “falcon” she purchased online.  

A photo shared by her saw a falcon-shaped kite being hung above her balcony, with Chan saying that the fake falcon has successfully scared away the pigeons.  

Chan wrote she has previously hung red plastic bags and other dangling items trying to stop the pigeons from landing on her balcony but to no avail, with the pigeons continuing to leave their droppings behind after their stay.  

After purchasing the falcon-shaped kite online and hanging it outside the window, she said the pigeons no longer came near her home.  

The Facebook community shared her joy, with some saying using falcon-shaped items is the best way to scare away the pigeons.  

“My father previously placed a battery-operated toy falcon on the balcony which can regularly move its head and make calls that sound like genuine ones, the pigeon had stopped visiting afterward,” one netizen wrote.  

However, one netizen reminded her that she would have to frequently move the “falcon” to make this solution last longer.  

“No matter how real it looks, pigeons will eventually get in on the joke if it stays only in one place. You will have to move it from place to place to trick the birds into thinking they’re real,” the netizen wrote.
