All campus visitors, including students, faculty, and staff, need to have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine starting from February 24, an email sent by the City University of Hong Kong said.
By that time, save for those who are unfit for vaccination due to medical conditions supported by a valid medical certificate, all visitors will have to upload their vaccination records on a designated website set up by the university.
In addition, academic and administrative department heads are encouraged to implement flexible work arrangements until January 23.
On the other hand, starting from the following Monday (Jan 17), anyone visiting the University of Hong Kong will need to be fully vaccinated for at least 14 days or take weekly self-tests.
The rules will be implemented at all HKU premises, including the Main Campus, the Medical Campus, Prince Philip Dental Hospital, Kennedy Town Centre, all sports facilities, and all HKU SPACE premises throughout Hong Kong.
HKU students and staff can first register their status through the HKU Portal or the HKU app, then gain entry to the campus by tapping their HKU ID cards on one of the readers at the campus entrances.
People who choose to take self-test will need to update their test records weekly before tapping their HKU ID cards. Exemptions will be given to children under the age of 12.
