The jury has retired to deliberate on the manslaughter case involving "Lady Gaga of the dancing scene," 32-year-old Josephine Lee Kar-ying.
Vanessa Kwan Hau-chi, 38, pleaded not guilty to a count of manslaughter in connection to Lee's death on June 26 in 2014 – the same day Kwan conducted a liposuction procedure on the dancer's back at Regrowth Hair Transplant Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui.
The trial has gone on for 29 days in High Court. Judge Susana D'Almada Remedios finished guiding the seven-member jury this morning, and the jury retired at 10.10am.
The prosecution told the court earlier that it was Lee's second liposuction treatment and was expected to last three hours. Kwan was the only one in the surgery room who was qualified to conduct the operation.
