Health authorities say they have not found new coronavirus infections, after testing some 460 residents of Block R of Allway Gardens in Tsuen Wan.
They have all been quarantined for 21 days after a recently-arrived foreign domestic helper was found with a highly-infectious strain of the coronavrirus disease, RTHK reports.
The ambush lockdown began at noon on Wednesday. All testing was completed just after midnight.
A Tsuen Wan district councillor, Chiu Yan-loy, complained about the evacuation of the building, saying people were kept waiting at home for hours with no information. He said one man was taken to hospital after becoming emotional.
The government has said it is grateful to those who have been subject to compulsory testing, thanking them for their support and understanding.
