Four additional patients have been added to the Kwai Shing West Estate cluster totaling 22 patients so far. Fifteen of them were said to live on the fifth floor of block eight of the estate while the others live on the other floors.
The Centre for Health Protection said as of 12am today, it has recorded 104 additional confirmed coronavirus cases – five imported and 99 local – bringing the tally to 7,180 cases.
There were also over 60 preliminary positive cases today.
Among the 104 patients were 45 males and 59 females, aged between two to 94 years.
Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan, head of the Centre for Health Protection's Communicable Disease Branch, said of the fresh local cases today, 64 were linked to previous local infections and 35 from untraceable sources.
The 64 patients related to other local infections include one from Pak Lok Nursing Home in Wong Tai Sin, one from the Community Treatment Facility at AsiaWorld-Expo, totaling the cluster at 13 patients.
The CHP cluster, Lohas Park construction site cluster and Fong Shu Chuen Day Activity Centre cluster also saw one additional patient each.
The department store Yata's Sha Tin branch saw one additional patient totaling five cases so far, along with five preliminary positive patients
Chuang said a new infection cluster also emerge at a construction site at Tseung Kwan O-Lam Tin Tunnel, six of the steel fixers were said to have contracted the virus.
