Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor earlier said that the government is planning to tighten its anti-epidemic control by requiring inbound travelers to use designated transport and undergo quarantine in selected hotels.
A list of designated quarantine hotels will be available for arrivals in the city to choose from, with them paying for their own room charges.
Those in quarantine will not be allowed to leave their room or have their relatives and friends came for visits. The hotel will provide three meals per day, shops and restaurants inside the hotel will have to be closed.
These quarantine hotels will not be allowed to host guests other than those needing quarantine after arriving in Hong Kong, vice versa, the hotels not on the list will not be allowed to host people needing quarantine.
Authorities earlier said they are considering to require those people who finished their 14-day quarantine to undergo Covid testing again on the 19th or 20th day after their arrival.
