Democratic Party chairman Wu Chi-wai noticed rumours online saying that people will interfere with the poll results leading to pan-democrats resigning from their extended Legislative Council's term.

Wu stressed that the polls should be conducted in a professional manner, that it should avoid interference affecting the legitimacy of the results.
‘We will coordinate with other democrats in deciding what thresholds are to be met for us to go with poll results,’ he added.
The Democratic Party had previously invited the Hong Kong Public Opinion Research Institute to help carry out the polls. As the pan-democrats have held meetings to decide whether they should stay for the one-year extended term.
