The Secretary for Health, Sophia Chan Siu-chee, said cinemas, beauty parlors and some outdoor sports venues will also reopen as the number of coronavirus patients seems to dwindling in Hong Kong.
From the first week of July, the city had experienced a sharp rise in the number of coronavirus infections, prompting the government to impose a raft of tough restrictions, including a ban on gatherings involving more than two people.
Restaurants which were restricted to provide only take away service after 6:00pm under the curbs will be allowed to provide dine-in services until 9:00pm starting from Friday.
People who exercise outdoors will be exempted from the mandatory face mask rule, said Chan.
The current restrictions will stay in place for two more days before new rules take effect from Friday.
