Free coronavirus testing in the city will last for two weeks for 12 hours each day, the union of Hong Kong doctors says.
Centers will be set up to collect samples in community and school halls in various districts.
Each team involved will have 18 people and will work in three three shifts.
The leader of the team collecting nasal and throat swabs, needs to be a doctor, dentist, or a registered nurse, the doctors' union says.
So far, more than 2,000 nurses have signed up to assist in sample collection. But this may not be enough to test about five million people, the union cautions.
Everyone will be issued with personal protective equipment, including N95 respirators, the union says.
