MTRC PR manager dies after burning charcoal

A 40-year-old woman, surnamed Kwok, has died after burning charcoal at a unit at at Bijou Apartments in Mong Kok at about 11:00pm last night.

Her 53-year-old boyfriend reported the incident to the police, and she was sent to Kwong Wah Hospital in an unconscious state and certified dead. A suicide note was found, and police said preliminarily, the death is not considered to be suspicious.

According to media reports, the woman was MTR Corporation public relations manager, Kwok Lai-ting.  Before joining the railway operator in 2014, she was a journalist and had worked for various Hong Kong media outlets.
