Wuhan evacuees begin trip to quarantine

A chartered flight carrying 109 Hong Kong residents landed at Hong Kong International Airport at about 5:00pm today. 

The government broadcast the arrival live from 5:10pm and buses were seen approaching the plane on the tarmac to take the passengers away to quarantine in Fo Tan after health checks are completed. Tour bus No 4 left a while ago with passengers in protective clothing.

The Cathay Pacific flight KA8851 left Wuhan in Hubei province earlier, marking the start of four such evacuation flights arranged to bring home Hong Kong residents, including pregnant women, who had appealed for help. Some had been desperate for emergency medical attention.

The second charter flight departs late and the arrangement is more complicated than the first flight, because this flight carries many Hong Kong people outside Wuhan,
