Hong Kong’s foreign currency reserves fell by US$3.3 billion (HK$25.74 billion) in March to US$413.1 billion, according to data from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.

The total foreign currency reserve assets represent more than five times the currency in circulation or about 37 percent of Hong Kong dollar M3, the de facto central bank said in a statement on Monday.
Including unsettled foreign exchange contracts, the foreign currency reserve assets of Hong Kong at the end of March 2025 amounted to US$412.5 billion, down by US$3.4 billion from February.
