With a view of the harbor, Hue Dining is hard to beat for festive fun. Its four-course dinner (HK$880) on December 24 and 25 offers two choices of mains: pressed turkey filled with savoy cabbage and poached quince, or venison pithivier served with smoked La Ratte potatoes and glazed winter vegetables.
Finish up with Black Forest cake made with dark chocolate, kirsch cherry compote and fluffy whipped cream.
Meditteranean flavors are the order of the day at Quiero Mas. You won't leave the table hungry if you plump for the 10-course Christmas Indulge dinner (HK$ 838), available from December 24 to 26. As its name implies, the treats are indulgent and include steak tartare with black truffle, and crab and caviar Montadito.
For the small(er) eaters, there is the eight-course Christmas Delight (HK$638 for eight courses) packed with signature dishes such as Iberico ham croquettes, lobster paella, and Basque burnt cheesecake.
At Popinjays, chef de cuisine Lexine Hepworth has dreamt up a lavish five-course dinner on Christmas Eve (HK$1,488). Start with Fine de Claire oysters from France, duck carpaccio and Jerusalem artichoke risotto, followed by the main event, pan-seared wagyu striploin, and ending with a selection of Christmas treats. A slightly pared-down four-course option (HK $988) is available up till January 2, except December 31.
Tea WG is known for its afternoon tea but this year, it is also offering a substantial festive set meal (HK$788) from December 23 to 25 and December 31 to January 1. All the dishes are infused with tea.
The meal begins with lobster jelly with red chai and chestnut soup infused with rum tea. Choices for mains are Australian wagyu beef sirloin served with pu-erh 2000, or slow-cooked foie gras, pigeon and bacon roll. Finish with a vanilla parfait perked up with kumquat confit.
Another luxurious choice is Aria's five-course menu ( HK$1,188) on December 24 and 25. Highlights include red snapper with spinach, lemon and capers sauce, and turkey roll with chestnut and sausage stuffing.
Buffets are the way to go when you don't like deciding what to eat in advance. Lighthouse Cafe at the Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel will serve a lavish Christmas dinner buffet (HK$988) from December 24 to 27. Guests can indulge in Japanese sashimi, Peruvian soup and American Christmas turkey. Also on the buffet table are over 15 desserts, such as Christmas pudding, winter snowball and yule log cake.
Another hotel buffet, Hotel Alexandra's dinner buffet (from HK$628) is in keeping with its opulent surroundings. Available until January 2, it includes roasted turkey with cranberry sauce, roasted prime US steak, and pan-seared foie gras on toast.
For an interactive experience, head to The Astor. Inspired by a local variety show Enjoy Yourself Tonight, the restaurant is serving up a Christmas buffet (from HK$658) along with classic games, where guests can win small gifts, until December 31.
Vegetarians have not been forgotten. At Jaja, a Christmas semi-buffet (HK$788) will be offered on December 24 and 25. Guests can indulge in a wide selection of vegetarian appetizers and desserts, the main course and three-hour free-flow.
For homebodies, Sen-Ryo offers party sets of sushi and sashimi which are perfect for gatherings. The smallest, a set for three to four (HK$1,540) includes a sushi platter, sashimi platter and Caesar salad.
