It can be easy to overlook in our busy day-to-day lives the plentiful natural beauty surrounding us in Hong Kong.
So with spring's arrival it is truly the best time to get outside and treat yourself to Hong Kong's beautiful flowers - and maybe snap a few photographs.
One of the most photogenic flowers, the Japanese cherry blossom, began blooming several weeks ago.
While a trip to Japan may need to wait you can witness Hong Kong's own Sakura season in a few locations: Tai Po Waterfront Park, Velodrome Park and Kwan Kung Pavilion among others.
The stunning pale-pink blossoms remind us to appreciate the ephemeral beauty of nature while it is here.
Another blooming flower not to miss is the Bauhinia, Hong Kong's emblem. Known for its vibrant purple-pink color and its fragrance, you can spot these flowers in many areas around Hong Kong.
But Kowloon Tsai Park and Quarry Bay Park are the best.
For a unique experience head to Yuen Long's Shing Uk Tsuen village to admire the sea of purple water hyacinths between May to October.
The water hyacinth is a fickle flower, and seeing them requires a bit of luck.
They bloom and wilt all in just a day.
If you want to test your luck and catch a fleeting glimpse, make your way to Yuen Long.
Spring is a time of change, a period of revitalization and growth.
Be sure not to miss seeing these gorgeous flowers before they are gone.
Whether you head to the mountains, stroll in the park or just stop to look around while you are commuting chances are you will be treated to some glorious sights of spring.
