As we embark on another transformative year at Towngas, our vision extends far beyond financial performance. We remain steadfast in our commitment to securing the long-term vitality and relevance of our organization amid an energy sector undergoing change at an unprecedented pace. With artificial intelligence serving as the cornerstone of our next phase of growth, we are not merely adapting to change but proactively shaping a future powered by innovation and sustainability.
While some regard AI as a potential threat to traditional roles, I view it as a powerful amplifier of human capability. By thoughtfully integrating AI throughout our operations, we empower our people to become more agile, insightful, and responsive to emerging challenges and opportunities. Upskilling our workforce is not simply a priority, it is foundational to our enduring success and resilience. In fact, we are actively leveraging AI to accelerate internal restructuring, targeting a “3x impact” on operational efficiency and performance excellence.
To democratize access to advanced technology, we have launched a no-code/low-code platform that enables teams to build intelligent assistants with remarkable ease. Supported by peer-sharing sessions, personalized tutorials, and a variety of supporting learning resources, this initiative places the power of innovation directly in the hands of our employees. They can now rapidly create, customize, and deploy AI solutions with ease, seamlessly embedding cutting-edge capabilities into daily workflows and fundamentally redefining how we work.
Central to these efforts is the Towngas Group AI Platform: a secure, robust foundation that enables responsible AI deployment across our business units, from Hong Kong to the Chinese mainland. By automating routine tasks in finance, human resources, and supply chain management, the platform frees our talented teams to focus on higher-value activities that directly advance our environmental, social, and governance objectives.
A notable highlight of this approach is our intelligent production plant safety inspection application. Developed in close collaboration with our engineers, the tool captures real-time furnace condition data, eliminates manual errors, and significantly shortens inspection times. By building internal expertise, we have reduced reliance on external vendors while dramatically improving data quality and reliability – clear evidence of the transformative power of self-driven upskilling. Furthermore, this initiative supports our “Pass the Torch” objective, enabling experienced retiring engineers and management staff to effectively transfer their knowledge to the next generation.
The results speak for themselves. Our AI initiatives have already generated value more than three times the capital invested, delivering an outstanding return on investment. This strong performance reinforces my confidence in our AI-driven strategy and paves the way for even broader adoption.
Looking ahead, we have set ambitious targets to drive operational excellence, with particular emphasis on enhancing back-office efficiency and frontline productivity. As AI scales rapidly across Towngas, it is evolving beyond a mere tool into a genuine force for transformation, aligning breakthrough innovation with our sustainability goals and uncompromising performance standards.
