Qipao-clad Ip attracts new fans

To celebrate the moon festival Executive Council convener Regina Ip Lau Suk-yee dressed up in a qipao.

The chairwoman of the New People's Party uploaded a full-body photo of herself in a light purple traditional qipao holding a lantern for the Mid-Autumn festival greetings yesterday.

"Today marks the beginning of the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance, which has been inscribed as a national intangible cultural heritage," said Ip in her latest social media post.

Ip said: "This major event is held over three consecutive days every year, attracting large numbers of locals and visitors to watch and take in this unique cultural experience and festive atmosphere."

Internet users complimented the convener's appearance and outfit.

"You look very graceful and elegant in the qipao," a web user wrote.

"You should be this year's Miss Hong Kong," another said.

When one web user asked whether there would be more images of her, Ip said a total of four photos would be uploaded.
