Funds raised will be used to support the university’s strategic development, particularly the provision of funds for students to participate in an extended study program in the Greater Bay Area. The aim of that program is to enhance understanding of development opportunities in the GBA and to boost employment prospects for students.
The event at the Eden Course of the Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling attracted over 210 participants, and 153 of them formed 38 teams to compete for 30 awards.
The university’s president emeritus, Daniel Tse Chi-wai, also attended the event from Macau.
The event has been sponsored by the Chan Yin Chuen Memorial Charitable Foundation through the clothing brand Ashworth for four consecutive years. Ashworth also sponsored the event’s golf shirts for a third year.
The Golf Day has raised over HK$34.5 million since its inception in 2004.
