Love sign of the times - on a bus

An elderly man was seen holding a sign in Mong Kok looking for his "dream girl" he met on a bus 41 years ago.

A love letter disclosed that he fell in love with a 17-year-old girl in a white secondary school uniform at first sight on the route 33M bus from Mong Kok to Tsuen Wan on May 7, 1982.

After searching for the girl, who looked like actress Michelle Monique Reis, since 2010, the man said he did not further develop a relationship with the girl "for her best interest."

In a video he posted in 2013, the man, who is 15 years older than the girl, said he was poor at the time, that he did not want to disturb her studying and that he already had a wife in the mainland.

After all these years, the man said he just wanted to know if the girl was happy.

The netizen, who posted on LIHKG and Xiaohongshu, said he initially thought it was a scam.

"I don't know if it's real or not, but he seems quite determined," he said.

Some web users also hoped the brave and love-struck man could reunite with his dream girl.
