Police arrested a man at a Mong Kok HSBC branch on Monday morning after he tried to cash suspicious high-value bonds suspected to be counterfeit.

At 11.37am today, a man visited the HSBC branch at Nathan Road, Mong Kok, and presented several bonds to staff, requesting cash redemption.
The bonds included two with a face value of HK$500 million each, one of HK$100 million, and one of HK$1 million. Staff noticed irregularities and suspected the bonds were fake, then alerted police.
Officers arrived, investigated, and arrested the man on the spot.
He was taken to a police station for further inquiries.
