A man and a woman, both aged 42, were found dead at their respective homes in Mong Kok and Lai King within about half an hour on Thursday afternoon, the third day of the Lunar New Year.
Police received the first report at 3.02pm. A man reported that his 42-year-old brother, a Lo surnamed man, had collapsed inside a unit at a Tong Lau building on Tung Choi Street in Mong Kok. Paramedics rushed him to Kwong Wah Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
About 23 minutes later, at 3.25pm, police received another report. A woman said her 42-year-old sister had collapsed at her home in Fung King House at Lai King Estate. Emergency personnel arrived to find the woman lying on her bed with no signs of life. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to sources, both individuals had medical histories. Police are investigating both cases, which are currently considered non-suspicious. Autopsies will be conducted to determine the causes of death.
