A non-passenger-carrying double-decker KMB bus became stuck after mistakenly entering the Elements shopping mall car park at Kowloon Station on Thursday evening.
The incident occurred at around 8pm at the south car park entrance off Austin Road. The Route 271 bus, which was not in service and heading to the West Kowloon High Speed Rail Station, drove into the entrance but its roof struck and became jammed against the ceiling due to height restrictions.
Footage showed the front section of the double-decker wedged under the entrance structure, with parts of the roof damaged. No injuries were reported.
KMB confirmed the bus was not carrying passengers. The company said it has immediately suspended the driver from duty and launched an internal investigation to determine the cause.
The car park entrance has clear height restriction signs and is generally unsuitable for double-decker buses. Police attended the scene. Further details are under investigation.
