The Hong Kong Jockey Club and the Hong Kong Golf Club have jointly launched the Jockey Club Community Golf Programme, a new initiative aimed at strengthening community engagement, youth development, and support for major sporting events.
Under the partnership, the Jockey Club will allocate HK$32 million through its Charities Trust to the Hong Kong Golf Club Charitable Foundation. The funding will support a series of community participation activities over the next two years, including outreach programs held alongside major tournaments and activities at spectator villages.
The program seeks to broaden access to golf across different segments of society. Planned initiatives include school-based activities, with professional coaches providing training to grassroots children, young people, and golfers with disabilities.
The scheme will also invite members of the public from various backgrounds to attend top-tier international golf tournaments free of charge.
Organizers expect that nearly 25,000 students, youths, and individuals from underprivileged communities will benefit each year from the program.
