A father was arrested on Monday on suspicion of child abuse after he allegedly beat and scolded his 11-year-old son over academic issues at their residence in Wong Tai Sin.
Police received a report from the boy at around 2pm, who stated that the abuse at his home in Upper Wong Tai Sin Estate had caused injuries to his face, neck, and back.
Officers arrived at the scene and arrested the 46-year-old father on suspicion of "ill-treatment or neglect by those in charge of child or young person."
The boy, who was conscious, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
