Commissioner of Police Joe Chow Yat-ming announced on Saturday a 9.3 percent rise in applicants for police posts from April to December 2025, with constable applications increasing 11.9 percent.
Fifteen inspectors of police and 248 constables graduated from the Police College passing-out parade today.
In the current 2025/26 financial year so far, 11,124 people applied to join the force, a 9.3 percent increase over the same period last year. Constable applications rose particularly strongly by 11.9 percent.
Last week the force took part in the HKTDC Education and Careers Expo, attracting 160 on-site applications across inspector, constable and auxiliary police roles over four days.
Recruitment efforts continue. In March police will visit Huaqiao University in Fujian and Jinan University in Guangdong to hold recruitment sessions for Hong Kong students studying on the mainland.
These events will provide information and allow immediate applications.
