A smart crowd-management website created by the Hong Kong Police Force and local tech company Qianfan Technology has claimed the bronze Smart Mobility Award at the 2025 Hong Kong ICT Awards, earning praise for turning the post-event scramble at the new Kai Tak Sports Park into a calm, guided experience for over 900,000 spectators.
Launched in February 2025, “Easy Leave” is the world’s first platform to harness artificial intelligence that analyzes live CCTV footage in real time, instantly color-coding crowd density across the 50,000-seat venue and surrounding areas while suggesting the fastest routes out.
One quick QR code scan delivers MTR, bus, and taxi updates plus maps of nearby facilities in English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese, making life easier for locals and tourists alike.
An October upgrade timed for the 15th National Games added extra features and Games-themed content, proving its worth during the biggest sporting event Hong Kong has ever hosted.
Police Senior Inspector Ma Chung-ying said the whole idea was to arm visitors with everything they need before they even arrive, cutting queues, easing traffic chaos, and boosting the city’s reputation as a world-class host.
Qianfan Technology’s Rachel Chan Hei-ting revealed half the platform’s 900,000 users came from the mainland and overseas and hailed the rare police-tech partnership that turned years of crowd-control know-how into a tool anyone can use on their phone.
The bronze award celebrates how “Easy Leave” is already helping cement Hong Kong’s smart-city credentials and promises smoother departures for every concert, match, and mega-event still to come at Kai Tak.
