A bushfire broke out on Cheung Ngau Shan in Yuen Long around 6pm on Sunday, with flames stretching 500 meters across the hillside visible from distant locations.
The blaze occurred during dry conditions after the Hong Kong Observatory issued a Yellow Fire Danger Warning at 6am. The fire's remote location posed no immediate threat to residential areas, requiring no evacuations.
By 9pm, the fire had split into two separate lines measuring approximately 200 meters and 100 meters long. Photographs from the Observatory showed the fire visible from the western side of Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden.
