Hong Kong’s Business of Design Week (BODW) 2025, the flagship event of the Hong Kong Design Centre, will return from December 1 to 6, partnering with Italy to celebrate its rich design heritage and spark global innovation under the theme “Curiosity Ignites Design Innovation.”
The partnership coincides with Italy's upcoming hosting of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, as well as the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Italy.
Under the theme ‘Curiosity Ignites Design Innovation,’ the event will be headlined by the BODW 2025 Summit, which will take place from December 3 to 5.
The summit will gather more than 50 creative leaders and business decision-makers from Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States, the Czech Republic, Japan, the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, and more.
One of the key pillars of the summit is “Luxury Reimagined,” which will explore how century-old Italian luxury brands leverage their heritage and longevity to shape contemporary value.
Featured speakers will include figures such as Stefania Ricci, Director of Museo Ferragamo & Fondazione Ferragamo, and Cendrine de Susbielle, Creative Director of Manufactures nationales.
Another key pillar, “Innovating with AI & Tech,” will spotlight the impact of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies on design processes and outcomes, with guest speakers from mainland tech giants Baidu.
The summit will also cover topics including “Urban Visions,” “Mobility Revolution,” “Crafted Living,” and “Cultural Innovation & Creativity.”
“Through BODW 2025, we look forward to sharing Italy's globally cherished design philosophy and artisanal heritage, while jointly exploring how 'Curiosity' can ignite creative sparks,” said Carmelo Ficarra, Consul General of Italy in Hong Kong and Macau.
The event will also coincide with citywide design initiatives, creating a vibrant creative atmosphere across Hong Kong.
On December 3, the inaugural “Vividly Hong Kong” event at the DX design hub will celebrate the first anniversary of this creative landmark, alongside the DFA Awards Presentation Ceremony 2025 and the opening of exhibitions “DxGBA Gravity” and “The Neon Exhibition.”
