On the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival (October 6), heavy rail and selected light rail routes will operate overnight.
Additionally, the High Speed Rail (HSR) will run 13 extra pairs of short-haul trains daily from October 1 to 8. A record 120 HSR trains will operate on October 4—the highest single-day frequency since the Hong Kong section began service.
Enhanced services for Mid-Autumn Festival
On October 6, services will be reinforced from 3pm, with early implementation of evening peak schedules.
All heavy rail lines and seven light rail routes will run overnight, except for the Airport Express, Disneyland Resort Line, and the East Rail Line cross-border services to Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau.
Bus routes 506, K51, and K54A will extend operating hours.
National Day and Golden Week arrangements
On October 1, train frequencies will be increased during various periods, particularly in the afternoon and evening.
Throughout the Golden Week, the East Rail Line will operate enhanced northbound and southbound services to accommodate cross-border travelers.
The MTR has also deployed additional staff and signage at Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau stations, with special “courtesy channels” available for passengers in need during peak hours.
Mobile network capacity at these stations has been upgraded in coordination with telecom providers to handle high passenger volume.
