The Hong Kong government has appointed Duncan Chiu Tat-kun to the Board of Directors of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTPC) for a two-year term effective July 1.
The city’s financial secretary simultaneously reappointed five incumbent board members: Jennifer Chan Pui-kwan, Eugene Chan Yu-ching, Hon Chi-keung, legislator Elizabeth Quat Pei-fan, and Philip Zhai Pu.
Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Sun Dong praised the board's stewardship in advancing Hong Kong's innovation ecosystem.
He said the Board, over the past two years, has led HKSTPC in fulfilling its public mission of providing infrastructure, supporting startups, and nurturing tech talent.
“With the members' wealth of experience and expertise in a wide range of disciplines, the Board of Directors will no doubt continue to steer the HKSTPC in further promoting the development of the I&T ecosystem and developing Hong Kong into an international I&T centre,” said Sun.
The government official separately acknowledged outgoing board member Angel Ng Yin-yee, whose six-year tenure concludes on June 30.
"Ng has actively participated in the work of the Board of Directors and made valuable contributions to the local I&T development. I sincerely thank her for her valuable advice on the HKSTPC and strong support for the I&T development in Hong Kong,” Sun added.
