A raging fire broke out at a logistics warehouse on Ha Tsuen Road in Tin Shui Wai on Tuesday afternoon, sending thick columns of black smoke towering over northern Hong Kong.
Fire services first received emergency alerts at 12.40pm as flames rapidly consumed stored goods within the facility.
The situation escalated dramatically within the hour, with authorities declaring a Level 3 fire at 1.33pm.

By mid-afternoon, firefighters had committed six water jets and six breathing apparatus teams to combat the stubborn blaze that continued burning past 3.45pm despite intensive efforts.
The inferno left one 53-year-old male worker with serious back burns, though he remained conscious during transport to Tuen Mun Hospital. Another injured man was sent to the Tin Shui Wai Hospital.
Eyewitness accounts from warehouse staff indicated that the fire originated in a rear storage area and exploded outward with terrifying speed. An employee noted that the flames spread through adjacent sections in less than fifteen minutes, and fortunately, all thirty-plus staff members managed to evacuate safely without injuries.

As winds carried toxic smoke across nearby residential neighborhoods, the Fire Services Department issued urgent public health advisories urging residents to remain indoors with windows sealed shut.
The Transport Department implemented full road closures along both directions of Ha Tsuen Road near Tin Ha Road, creating massive traffic congestion.
