An 18-year-old concertgoer reported the theft of a high-value camera lens worth approximately HK$20,000 following Raymond Lam's "GO WITH THE FLOW" performance at Hong Kong Coliseum on Friday night.
The incident occurred near the venue's Y Gate exit around 11pm yesterday after the second show of Lam's seven-night residency.
According to social media posts circulating on Threads, the victim had been carrying a Canon 70-200mm telephoto lens on her right shoulder when she heard a clicking sound and turned to see two suspects in white shirts fleeing the scene.
The Kowloon City police district's criminal investigation team has classified the case as theft and is reviewing available evidence.
Online commentators noted this follows a pattern of similar thefts targeting expensive camera equipment in crowded areas, often involving distraction techniques.
The victim has appealed for witnesses, particularly fellow concert attendees or passing drivers who might have observed suspicious activity near the traffic lights outside the venue.
The posts have sparked broader discussions about public safety at major events, with some netizens recalling comparable incidents where thieves used maps or papers to conceal their actions while accomplices removed camera components.
