Xiaomi (1810) said its new smartphone factory in Beijing has launched, which is expected to have an annual production capacity of 10 million cell phones.
The new generation Xiaomi mobile smart factory in Changping has officially opened and has an annual production capacity of up to 10 million flagship phones.
The upcoming Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 / Flip folding screen phone will also be produced in this new factory.
The 2.4 billion yuan (HK$2.8 billion) factory, with a floor space of 81,000 square meters, has been certified as a "national intelligent manufacturing benchmark enterprise."
Lei Jun said that the degree of automation of this intelligent factory is very high, and the biggest highlight is that most of the equipment is done in-house by Xiaomi.
Meanwhile, tech giant Tencent (0700)'s Dungeon & Fighter Mobile kept its spot as China's top-grossing game despite the launch of a major rival from Genshin Impact studio Mihoyo, passing a key test of popularity in an intensely competitive market.
Launched in May in the world's largest gaming market, the game crossed the US$100 million (HK$780 million) revenue mark in just 10 days, according to a report by data analytics firm Sensor Tower.
It also topped the global mobile game revenue growth chart for May and ranked eighth in overall revenue.
In the first 10 days after its release, DnF Mobile's revenue in the Chinese iOS market surpassed the combined revenue of Tencent's other popular games Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile according to another Sensor Tower report from June 17th.
That growth pushed Tencent's mobile game revenue to increase by 12 percent in May, according to Sensor Tower.
