HSBC app has 2m users, Mox offers 10pc interest

The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation said its mobile banking app HSBC HK App has recorded over two million active users.

The net growth in the number of active users for the full year last year is double that of in 2021, the lender said.

HSBC added that it has launched over 200 digital features or service enhancements in the past year and will continue to add more functions to improve customers' experience this year.

This came as virtual lender Mox, which is backed by Standard Chartered Hong Kong said that new customers can enjoy an interest rate of 10 percent per annum on a one-month Hong Kong dollar time deposit of up to HK$50,000. This means customers can earn up to HK$416 in interest in one month.

The promotion period runs until the end of the month.
