Midea delivers 20,000-unit emergency French air-con order as Europe swelters

Midea (0300) has fulfilled an emergency order for 20,000 portable air conditioners from a French customer, according to mainland China media reports, as an ongoing extreme heatwave across Europe sends cooling demand surging. 

This order was the first time Midea has utilized cross-border land transportation, with delivery to the customer's warehouse expected in approximately 15 days, halving the overall delivery time compared to sea freight.

Midea stated that the domestic air conditioner market is already in its peak season, with factories having full order books. By allocating additional manpower and production capacity, the company was able to ensure the delivery of this additional order from France.
