Hang Seng Index gains nearly 500 points by noon

Hong Kong stocks extended gains by midday break on Friday on the ceasefire hope for the Iran war.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index advanced 490 points, or 2.02 percent, to 24,739 points at noon.

The Hang Seng Tech Index increased 1.72 percent to 4,735 points.

In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index went up 1.56 percent to 4,049 points, and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index rose 1.69 percent to 15,103 points at the midday close.
