Hang Seng Index plunges below 26,000 points at noon on Wednesday

Hong Kong stocks plunged below 26,000 points by noon on Wednesday. 

The benchmark Hang Seng Index dove by 438 points or 1.7 percent, to 25,599 points at noon.

The half-day market turnover was HK$169.75 billion. 

The Hang Seng Tech Index was down by 2.35 percent to 5,076 points at noon.

In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index was up by 0.6 percent to 4,097 points and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index went up by 2.3 percent to 15,951 points at the midday close.
