Hang Seng Index plunges below 26,000 points in early trading on Wednesday

The Hang Seng Index plunged in the early morning trading session on Wednesday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index dropped by 340 points, or 1.3 percent to 25,698 points. 

The Hang Seng Tech Index lost by 2.1 percent to around 5,087 points.
