Hong Kong stocks extend gains by midday

Hong Kong shares rose at noon on Tuesday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index increased 99 points or 0.39 percent, to 25,774 points.

The Hang Seng Tech Index was down by 0.11 percent to 4,839 points.

In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index was flat at 4,132 points, and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index dropped by 0.78 percent to 15,408 points at the midday close.
