China expels former securities regulator chief Yi Huiman from Communist Party, public office

Authorities expelled Yi Huiman, a former chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, from the Communist Party and removed him from public office, the country's anti-graft watchdog said on Thursday.

Yi headed the securities regulator from January 2019 to February 2024 but fell under investigation for suspected corruption last year.
