Hibor drops following the HKMA intervention

Most of the Hong Kong interbank offered rates declined on Friday following the intervention by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority a day ago.

The one-month gauge, closely tied to mortgage rates, fell by over 13 basis points to 0.83 percent.

The six-month rate rose to 2.38 percent.

But the Hong Kong dollar continued to stay near 7.85 per greenback, the weak end of its trading band.
