China Mobile Q1 profit rises 3.45 percent to 30.6 billion yuan

China Mobile's (0941) net profit rose 3.45 percent to 30.6 billion yuan (HK$32.45 billion) in the first quarter compared to the same period of last year. 

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation also advanced at a similar pace to 80.7 billion yuan, the telecom giant said in a filing on Tuesday. 

Operating revenue barely changed at 263.8 billion yuan, of which revenue from telecommunications services inched up 1.4 percent to 222.4 billion yuan. 

It lost nearly 1 million customers in the quarter, but the number of 5G network customers rose 26 million to 578 million as of the end of March.
