This came after United States President Donald Trump announced a suspension on his steep tariffs on Mexico and Canada, alongside a talk with China, within 24 hours of officially proclaiming said tariffs.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index opened 271 points higher at 20,488 points.
The Hang Seng Tech Index was up by 1.9 percent to 4,828 points.
Alibaba (9988) opened 3 percent higher at HK$96.80, marking a three-month high.
Xiaomi (1810) once gained more than 5 percent early in the morning session, hitting a record high, with total market capitalization exceeding HK$1 trillion.
Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (0981) once rose more than 7 percent, marking a new record high since peaking in July 2020.
