Fresh off her latest victory in Belgium, Hong Kong's snooker queen Ng On-yee announced her engagement after a 15-year romance, marking a dream start to 2026.
The 35-year-old athlete shared the joyous news on social media on March 3, writing, “After 15 years… A new chapter begins.”
In a photo accompanying the post, Ng was seen smiling while holding a bouquet of flowers and showing a ring on her left hand.
The announcement quickly drew a wave of congratulatory messages online from fans and fellow athletes.
Among those offering their well wishes were former professional snooker player Frankie Chan Wai-ming, Thailand’s snooker player Narucha Phoemphul, and former Hong Kong fencing team member Cheung Siu-lun.
Ng, a three-time world champion, has enjoyed a strong start to the year. Earlier this year, she finished as second runner-up at the WSF Women’s Championship.
She followed that result with a victory at the Belgium Women’s Open last month, defeating two former world champions on her way to the title — England’s Reanne Evans in the semifinals and Thailand’s Mink Nutcharut in the final.
The win marked Ng’s first title of the year and the 23rd ranking title of her career.
