Tickets for Cantopop queen GEM's highly anticipated "I AM GLORIA World Tour 2.0" concerts in Hong Kong were snapped up within an hour on Friday (July 4), leaving many fans empty-handed.
The three-night concert series, scheduled for August 15 to 17 at the Kai Tak Sports Park, saw overwhelming demand when tickets went on sale at noon.
Upon accessing the ticketing platform at noon sharp, our reporter encountered a message stating: "Too many users accessing the site. Please try again later."
After multiple attempts, the reporter successfully reached the payment page for three HK$1,780 Sunday show tickets, only to have the transaction fail due to system errors.
By 12.54pm, all tickets across all three shows were completely sold out.
Secondary market prices are already surging after the sale, with resale platforms listing tickets at multiples of their face value just hours after the official sale concluded.
The Hong Kong shows mark a homecoming for the 32-year-old singer-songwriter, whose global tour has already broken attendance records across Asia and North America.
