The China Wildlife Conservation Association inked the cooperation deal with Munich's Hellabrunn Zoo. The agreement stipulates the selection of two Chinese pandas for a decade-long stay at the German zoo.
Germany currently houses pandas at Berlin Zoo. The pair "Meng Meng" and "Jiao Qing" arrived in 2017 for a 15-year stay. Their twin cubs "Meng Xiang" and "Meng Yuan," born in 2019 and the first panda births in Germany, returned to China in late 2023.
In August last year, Meng Meng gave birth to another set of twins, "Meng Hao" and "Meng Tian," who will stay in Berlin for two to four years before returning to China.
