Business owners and residents in North Point complained about a gas supply disruption on Monday after water pipes burst in the area, damaging an underground gas line.
The gas supply is still being affected as of 6pm, and is expected to be restored before noon on Tuesday (Apr 1).
Police received reports around 5 am that a 400-millimeter freshwater pipe and a 200-millimeter flushing water pipe burst near Tsat Tsz Mui Road.
A restaurant owner surnamed Cheng estimated his business revenue would drop by more than 50 percent due to limited food options after the incident.
He also mentioned fewer customers than usual after the burst pipe caused flooding this morning.
Meanwhile, some residential buildings were also affected, with residents complaining about having no hot water or gas.
After emergency repairs, freshwater service resumed around 9 am, while the affected road remained closed until 2 pm. Some bus routes were also diverted following the incident.
