Wong's dream run at the Miami Open ended with a battling 7-6 (8/6), 4-6, 6-4 loss to Australian Adam Walton in the third round. Despite his exit, the 20-year-old Wong achieved the best finish by a Hong Kong player in a Masters 1000 tournament.
Meanwhile, Eala, advanced to the quarter-finals when Spanish 10th seed Paula Badosa pulled out of their fourth-round match with a lower back injury. Up next for the 19-year-old Eala is world number two Iga Swiatek.
Speaking to reporters after returning to the city, Wong revealed that the relationship is “in the past”.
"I find all these questions very troubling. Actually, it's not that. People often use photos from 2 or 3 years ago, those are photos from the Asian Games.”
However, when speaking of YouTube channel JFFT, one of the most-subscribed channels locally, Wong said he is a fan of the content creators and said he would love to make a guest appearance on the channel to experience a life outside of tennis.
