The victim posted a video of the confrontation with the staffer on Facebook on Tuesday (Mar 4), expressing frustration after "being charged" just because he ate a small part of the undercooked portion.
The clip starts with a female staff member repeatedly asserting that the poster had eaten the wings when he attempted to get a refund.
The camera then turned to the box of the suspected raw chicken wings, with the poster claiming that he had only eaten one or two.
A male employee stepped in and argued that the poster was responsible for covering the cost of the bitten wings, adding that two wings would cost HK$14.
The poster angrily retorted, he should not have to pay for the eatery's mistake, but the male staff member stressed a refund would only be given if the consumed wings are paid for.
After the poster pulled out some cash in front of the camera, the male staffer turned away, indicating the refund would be processed once payment was made.
The video sparked heated discussions online, with many criticizing the staff's attitude, asking how the poster could have known the chicken was undercooked without eating it.
According to the report from Sing Tao Headline, the sister publication of The Standard, the female employee who claimed to be the owner refused to respond to the incident this morning (Mar 5) as she said she was busy at the time.
When asked who could respond to the incident, the woman replied that someone would answer the phone later before hanging up.
