This came after the US Postal Service stopped accepting international packages from the SAR last week, but later reversed the decision on the same day, prompting the Hongkong Post to stop accepting US-bound packages.
In an announcement on Monday evening, Hongkong Post said it would again accept postal items containing goods to the US starting tomorrow, as the country confirmed that those parcels would not be subject to extra duties.
The city’s postal office warned Hongkongers about possible mailing delays and reminded them that the US government may change its policies again soon, which could cause inconvenience.
A government spokesperson reiterated Hong Kong’s strong disapproval of US imposition of additional duty on products of the SAR and urged the US to take urgent actions to rectify its wrongdoing.
