It is understood that one of Chung’s younger brothers was taken to Tsuen Wan police station, while his younger sister and another younger brother were brought to the Central District and Castle Peak police stations, respectively.
All three siblings were gradually released at around noon. Chung’s younger sister walked out from the Central District police station at around 12.30pm, accompanied by her husband.
This came a week after national police officers brought Chung’s wife and son to police stations for questioning last Tuesday (Jan 14). They were released at around noon on the same day.
Last Monday (Jan 13), Robert Chung Ting-yiu, president and CEO of Hong Kong Public Opinion Research Institute, was taken away from his Pok Fu Lam home by national security police.
Officers subsequently took Robert Chung to PORI’s Wong Chuk Hang headquarters for investigation, where documents were seized.
Robert Chung is accused of aiding Chung Kim-wah, the 65-year-old outspoken commentator and former deputy CEO of PORI, who moved to the United Kingdom in 2022.
National security police have been investigating the flow of Chung Kim-wah's funds, sources said.
Last December, Chung Kim-wah was named as one of six wanted activists by police for allegedly contravening the national security law and has a HK$1 million bounty placed on him.
